3GT Artistic Director and Resident Playwright Suze Allen has a staged reading of her short play, DRY ROT, as part of the Dramatists’ Guild San Francisco Footlights Series on May 7 @ 7 pm.  SF Playhouse Stage #2, 533 Sutter Street, SF.  Free.

 3GT Associate Playwright Patricia Milton ‘s short play,  MISSION IRRESISTIBLE,  premieres in May as part of Sheherezade 2012, an evening of 8 short plays inspired by the theme “2012,” —and written in 2011.  It runs May 11-26 at StageWerx, 446 Valencia Street, SF.  Tickets benefit Playwrights Center of SF.  $15-20, available online.

There are two main stage productions that are still happening– playing Friday and Saturday at 8pm and Sunday at 4pm from 3/30- 4/1 is AJ Baker’s Critically Acclaimed THE RIGHT THING with Louis Parnell*, Catherine Castellanos*, Helen Shumaker, Lol Levy*, John Flanagan* & Karina Wolfe and directed by Suze Allen. Great reviews! The verdict is in!   Don’t miss the world premiere of the play that SF Examiner critic Jean Schiffman lauds as “…an intriguing tale of high-level greed, ruthlessness and moral bankruptcy that keeps us guessing, as new allegations and secrets are gradually revealed, and iffy new strategies plotted.. . . Credit playwright AJ Baker, powerhouse actor Catherine Castellanos as the train wreck of a central character and the rest of the able cast, plus director Suze M. Allen, with keeping me tuned in throughout. Also credit the audacity of brand-new 3Girls Theatre Company for hitting the ground running with this smart world premiere, plus another main stage production and several weeks of staged readings.

On 3/29 at 7:30pm and 4/1 at 7pm be sure and catch WHAT ABOUT BEN? by Lee Brady with original songs, music and lyrics by Marie Shell* and Eric Lenchner. Directed by Suze Allen, this one woman show stars Marie Shell* as Coralynn, a one named singer trying to choose between holding on to the memory of her dead husband or moving a migrant tree trimmer named Jose into the house that Ben built.  Most excellent guitar accompaniment by Eric Lenchner.

3GT also presents a Playwrights’ Forum on Monday 3/26 at 7:30pm, which is free and open to the public. Lee Brady, Literary Director and resident playwright at 3Girls Theatre moderates a panel of five workingwomen Bay Area playwrights, Robin Bradford, Mary Knoll, Margery Kreitman, Lynne Kaufman and Patricia Milton for a stimulating discussion centered around the significant gap between the opportunities available to women playwrights in America and those available to their male colleagues. And on Wednesday 3/28 at 7:30pm Margery Krietman will be reading her solo show, A SINGULAR STORY, which is a comedy of short related stories about a girl who comes out of the closet one embarrassing step at a time.

All 3GT events sell 3Girls Wine from the Oak Ridge Winery in Lodi. Carol Cassara, our great media consultant and true fan worked out a win-win deal with Marc Lohnes and Bob Strohn at Oak Ridge Vineyards and our audiences are sold. For just $4 a glass it is the best wine deal in the city!

All shows are at THICK HOUSE 1695 18TH STREET (bt. Arkansas and De Haro) on top of Potrero Hill.
